South Africa rolls out national geospatial information management strategy roadshow
The Department of Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation (DPME), in partnership with eThekwini Municipality, held a Geospatial Information Management Strategy (GIMS) Roadshow on 20 May 2026 in Durban. Led by Deputy Minister Seiso Mohai, the event forms part of a nationwide consultation to develop South Africa's new National Geospatial Information Management Strategy. The strategy aims to unify fragmented geospatial efforts across government, enhance data sharing, and improve decision-making for service delivery, spatial planning, and national development.
