RCMRD Expands Geospatial Services Across East Africa

In February 2025, the Regional Centre for Mapping of Resources for Development (RCMRD), based in Nairobi, was recognized as a leading inter-governmental organization serving 20 member states, including Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, and Ethiopia. RCMRD provides comprehensive geospatial services, including GIS, remote sensing, and land surveying (geodetic, topographical, engineering, and cadastral). Its work supports land administration and the development of Land Information Management Systems (LIMS), crucial for urban planning, agriculture, and environmental management. RCMRD’s regional hub status fosters technical expertise and innovation, empowering governments and NGOs with data-driven solutions for sustainable development.
