Locate26 opens bookings for four workshops on geospatial AI, cloud EO and open GIS
Bookings are open for the workshop programme of the 10th Digital Earth Summit / Locate26, to be held at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre from 24 to 26 November 2026. The four workshops run on Tuesday, 24 November, the day before the main conference begins.
Workshop A covers adopting geospatial AI within organisations. Workshop B combines an FME accelerator, a GDV Hub session on data validation and governance, and VertiGIS solutions. Workshop C offers hands-on cloud-native geospatial work with Earth observation data, where Python knowledge helps. Workshop D presents Open Spatial's Cloud GIS, built on open-source technologies, with trial logins for its web and mobile apps.
Workshops are included in full conference registration. Places are limited, allocated first come, first served, and selected during registration.
Why it matters: The workshops reflect where practical geospatial training is heading: GeoAI governance, cloud-native Earth observation analysis and open-source GIS platforms. Practitioners, including African ones attending or following the event, can use them to gauge current skills demand.
