Kenya boosts geospatial innovation and Earth observation capacity

Kenya is strengthening its geospatial sector through high-level stakeholder engagements aimed at scaling geospatial solutions and advancing digital transformation. A recent dialogue at the University of Nairobi's C4DLab brought together the Kenya Space Agency, Expertise France, Digital Africa, and Terra SAT Impact to discuss GeoAI applications, climate-risk intelligence, and better integration of satellite data into development planning. The discussions also highlighted the upcoming Earth Observation Innovation Laboratories (EOIL) initiative to promote open innovation and build local geospatial capacity for sustainable development.
