Hexagon to acquire geotechnical software firm Rocscience for USD 535 million
Hexagon AB announced on 9 October 2026 that it has signed a deal to buy Rocscience, the Toronto-based geotechnical and engineering analysis software company, from TA Associates and Rocscience's founders and management. The price equates to an enterprise value of USD 535 million, excluding cash and debt. Completion depends on customary conditions and is expected in the fourth quarter of 2026.
Rocscience will join the Radar & Monitoring Division in Hexagon's Infrastructure & Geospatial Business Area. Its software models rock, soil and structures, including slope stability, ground movement and the performance of tunnels and dams, and is used in around 125 countries. Hexagon plans to feed live data from its monitoring sensors, such as radar, into Rocscience models to calibrate them from design through operations. Rocscience expects revenue approaching USD 50 million in 2026.
Why it matters: The deal ties sensor-based ground monitoring directly to engineering models, a workflow relevant to mine and infrastructure safety. Practitioners using Hexagon monitoring or Rocscience tools may see tighter integration between the two.
