GeoCue announced the TrueView 550 aerial LiDAR mapping system at INTERGEO 2026 in Munich on 15 September 2026. It is the top-performing sensor in the company's Standard range and builds on the TrueView 539 and 540.

The scanner supports ranging of up to 2,100 metres and typical flight altitudes of 100 to 600 metres AGL, and can collect up to 1 million points per second at 120 metres AGL. Two 20 MP global shutter cameras give a wider field of view and improved point-cloud colourisation.

Buyers can choose GeoCue's TrueNav GNSS-inertial system or the Applanix APX-20. The APX-20 option includes unlimited Trimble PP-RTX post-processing, which removes the need for a field base station. Data are processed in GeoCue's LP360 software. The company positions the unit as approaching higher-end LiDAR performance at a lower price.

Why it matters: A mid-priced LiDAR unit with long range and base-station-free PPP processing could suit corridor, topographic and high-relief survey work where ground control is hard to establish, as in much of Africa's remote terrain.
