Europe's aerial survey industry warns of aviation fuel crisis

The European Association of Aerial Surveying Industries (EAASI) has raised concerns over rising aviation fuel prices and potential shortages. The industry warns that record-high fuel costs and limited reserves threaten critical spring and summer data acquisition flights, which provide essential high-resolution imagery and LiDAR data for flood modelling, infrastructure monitoring, and the European Green Deal. The association is urging authorities to grant priority fuel access and support for smaller operators to prevent major gaps in Europe's geospatial data supply.
