Airtel Africa and Starlink Expand Satellite-to-Mobile Services to Uganda

Airtel Africa and Starlink have launched satellite-to-mobile services in Uganda, marking Airtel's second commercial roll-out in Africa after the launch in the Democratic Republic of the Congo in August. Airtel subscribers with compatible smartphones can use the service to send SMS and use applications such as WhatsApp in areas beyond traditional cell coverage, requiring only a clear view of the sky. There is no need for satellite dishes, special hardware or extra devices.
