EAASI Student Tour at Intergeo 2026

📍 Location TBAOrganized by European Association of Aerial Surveying Industries (EAASI)

The European Association of Aerial Surveying Industries (EAASI) is demonstrating its commitment to closing the geospatial skills gap by organizing the EAASI Student Tour for the third consecutive year at Intergeo 2026. Students on the tour will visit participating companies at the event on Wednesday, 16 September. Skilled surveying and geospatial professionals are becoming harder to find across Europe, as fewer students choose to specialize in the field. Crewed aerial mapping makes this challenge even more acute. It is a niche discipline and, during their university years, students typically only encounter its fundamentals in theory, with little exposure to the technology itself. Closing that gap was one of the founding motivations behind EAASI, and supporting the next generation of professionals remains a key priority for the association today. That commitment returns to Intergeo this year with the third edition of the EAASI Student Tour, taking place at 10:30h on Wednesday, 16 September 2026.

The tour gives students attending Intergeo the chance to move beyond theory and actually see and touch the technology behind crewed aerial mapping – a first-hand encounter that can spark genuine interest in a discipline many have only studied on paper. Rather than a general walkthrough, the route follows a curated path of EAASI member company booths, where a representative from each stand welcomes the group and explains what their company does, the technologies they work with, and how they fit into the wider aerial surveying ecosystem. It is a simple idea, but an effective one: put students directly in front of the people and platforms shaping the industry, rather than leaving them to interpret unfamiliar equipment and acronyms on their own.
